    • Interactive Training in Class. (Theory & Lectures & Team Work)
  • 1 Week / 4 Days / 16 Hours
    • Practical Training at Full Mission Bridge Simulator

6 Trainees for each class. (Minimum of 6 trainees required for opening of course)

Course Aims:

SHIP AND SHORE FIRE FIGHTING & DAMAGE CONTROL TRAINING

  • To improve Fire Fighting techniques knowledge of trainees.
  • To prepare trainees for various emergency fire and damage conditions at sea and shore.
  • To enhance the organizational approach of Fire Fighting and damage control operations.
  • To ensure safe and adequate Fire Fighting team performance on board and shore.

Course Objectives:

The course participants will:

  • Learn and understand fire types and Fire Fighting methods and organization.
  • Learn and understand Damage Control methods and organization.
  • Develop of skills associated with the selection and safe operation of various kind of Fire Fighting chemical.
  • Familiarize the types, patterns, purpose and construction of nozzles and applicators and their usage.
  • Have knowledge about smoke evacuation methods and Fire Fighting in smoky areas and compartments.
  • Learn and apply the concepts, types, procedures, precautions, and equipment associated with ventilation operations.
  • Understand and able to apply the types, classification system, propulsion methods, extinguishing agents, characteristics and use of portable fire extinguishers which used on Fire Fighting.
  • Familiarize and use personal protective clothing and equipment including maintaining, storing, cleaning and inspection.
  • Have knowledge about Fire Fighting team organization and communication / report procedures.
  • Be able to apply first aid procedures against fire injuries and smoke poisoning.
